Darkenergy - Return of Evil was Project Imperial's first trek into the RPG feild. For its time, Return of Evil was the largest project the studio had yet attempted. With the game's decided failure, Darkenergy II was re-engineered to make up for its predicessor's losses.
The Design
The story focuses more on the world outside of the nation in which Fall of the Moon takes place. Five years after Yasvaz' defeat, things are not what they seem. To confirm the princess of Dalery's suspicions enlists those that protected Dalery before and begins a long trek to Eshraz.
The design of the game tends to be rather straightforward, preferring to use default RM2K graphics, sound and music. The only special engine within the game is an old version of Fall of the Moon's Interactive Story Experiance (ISE) called the Nonlinear Story Cloud (NSC). Unfortunately, NSC is only implemented in the second half of the game, leaving the first part of the story locked in stone.
