Nakira in Mangbetu means "one who has the qualities of a leader." Nakira is a Science Fiction story based on the life of an anthropomorphic lion in a universe populated by evolved animals. After losing his lover and his best friend in a privateer raid on their colony world, Nakira's embittered quest to uncover the secrets of his hidden past lead him and his slave friend, Burath, into a desperate struggle with forces that threaten the very highest levels of the Galactic Empire. Nakira has been in the works since 1997 and at one time I even had the storyboards for act one posted here. Since then there has been major modifications to the first act and with the help of Terry Wessner (Editor of Fang, Claw, & Steel) we finally completed all 3 acts. We are now in the process of working on a script and production/design drawings for future publication as a 10 issue comic series. |
