Shared Sorrow

A dear friend of mine, a little rodent named Lazarus Rat, had his dog pass away and I wanted to let him know that he wasn't alone in his grief. I look at this drawing and I still feel that grief.

There's a story of a little boy who came home late from going to the store for his mother. His mother asked him why he was so late in coming home. The little boy said that he had met another little boy sitting on the sidewalk curb crying over a broken bicycle. And that was why he was late. The boy's mother smiled down at him indulgently and said, "But you don't know how to fix a bycycle, dear." The little boy looked up at her and replied, "Yes, I know, Mother. So I sat down and cried with him."
