People seem to love asking me what the heck a furry is and why I happen to be one. Well the explanation of a furry has been detailed best by Wikipedia. Read all of the articles included in the Wiki, please. It's nice to have something That describes furries in a positive light, rather than the freak show that most media has tried to make it out to be. Well why am I one? I've always enjoyed anthropomorphic images, ever since I was young (no it wasn't sexual. :P). Favorite shows always involved some sort of anthro character and it simply carried on, most of my life. I didn't discover the fandom until I was about 14 years old, however, and I was pretty much in as soon as I found out about it. Just because I'm a furry doesn't mean I love everything about the fandom. I've found fursuit sex posted around the net that just looks terrible. I've seen too many furry communities where the furries act like children or lovers of drama. An example- those SoCalFurs who post up Sibe Husky's stuff and then cry about how hes making fun of them. I'm not very involved with the furry community, right now. Short of Furcadia and this website, I don't do anything with the furries in my area. Either small gatherings are too far away, or big gatherings are too expensive to get to. Hopefully, I will be able to make it to FurCon 2007. I do enjoy drawing and I have a small cluster of friends who like to see my art. I've been working to dispel the stereotypes people have formed about furries. Most people I meet who have heard about the fandom view the furries as delusional sex freaks with bad skin. Happily, though, I turn the entire view around on them and they embrace the furry part of me. Everyone needs to do their part for the fandom and not let the loud, pathetic minority create the public view of furries.
