The Amiga Gallery

SurvivorSurvivor.jpg - 130KI did this picture a while back, after Commodore went under, the Amiga was bought by ESCOM, and ESCOM went under. It embodies the 'never say die' spirit of the Amiga computer and its owners. The copyrights are out of date, because at the time Amiga was in the process of being bought by a company called VisCorp. That deal feel through, and now Gateway 2000 owns the Amiga properties.

Gateway AmigaGW_Amiga.jpg - 127K One day, I got an Email from the Editor of Amiga Format magazine, announcing Gateway 2000 as the new owners of the Amiga assets. I churned out this picture in a couple hours, and mailed it back - to the entire list that received the announcement. It has also appeared in several magazine stories telling of the buyout. That has to be my personal best for making a picture widespread in a short time.

Pissed AmigaAmiga4K.jpg - 80K This is probably one of the first 'rilly khoul' Amiga advocate pictures I've done, as well as one of the first to make heavy use of 3D rendering. The only drawn elements to this picture are the hands and the on-screen face, which was a drawing used as a texture map. This pic was done shortly after the Amiga was bought out (the first time) by ESCOM of Germany. Due to bad decisions, ESCOM itself went under about a year later.

We're BackWereBack.jpg - 63K After ESCOM went under, the Amiga was bought by cow-lovers Gateway 2000. To celebrate, I did another pic similar to 'We're back and we're pissed', except this one plays out more like 'We're back, and you'd better run!' Even though it's not very evident, A lot of this image was created with 3D rendering.

NoPenguins.jpg - 99K This picture was done shortly after the announcement that a future Amiga operating system might use Linux at its core. There's a lot of opinions on this matter, but I'll reserve judgement until I see the final product. I do think those Linux mascots can stay with Linux, however.

2001Amiga.jpg - 53K This was a picture concept I've been turning over and over in my mind for over a year. The original concept had the primitive Amiga reaching for a PowerPC CPU. Now it's just reaching toward the new millennium.
