![]() About The Artist Dark Natasha, a Colorado native, was born in 1972 and raised in the mountain town of Evergreen where her artistic nature was allowed to flourish. She practiced and formed her style during this time, graduating high school with honors. Natasha continued her schooling, attending the Colorado Institute of Art, the University of Colorado, Denver and Western State University from which she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Arts. In addition to pursuing an academic background, Natasha attended other schools of art such as the Art Students League of Denver and the California Institute of Studio Makeup in Los Angeles where she perfected her knowledge of motion picture and special effects techniques. Throughout her college career, Natasha continued to enter and win a variety of art competitions accumulating over forty awards in such categories as pencil, pastels, pen and ink, acrylics, watercolor, airbrush, watercolor, sculpture, weaving, jewelry, and costume. One of her more intriguing pieces, a five-foot long, two hundred pound dragon, was acquired by TCI/Jones Intercable CEO Glen Jones. Today that sculpture resides in the main lobby of the telecommunications giant's headquarters in Denver. Natashas primary focus includes fantasy, wildlife, and figures in which she has attained a unique elan in both depth and presentation. Overall she prefers to concentrate in such mediums as painting in ink and sculpture. For many years now she has used the Nome dart of Dark Natasha. She has found it to be an intriguing way of capturing audience attention and maintaining a certain mystique. Her work resides in private and corporate collections throughout the United States, Australia, and Britain. Art is her passion and she continues to expand her talents in as ever-widening spectrum.
