Re: Furnal Equinox has issued a statement regarding recent events involving Ontario Furries.

Dear friend's and members of the furry community,

I wish to respond some of the claims being made by Furnal Equinox in their statment of August 3, 2010 about their relationship with Ontario Furries.

I did not ignore any directives from wikifur admins nor was I upset by them. I found them reasonable and helpful. I didn't notice them for a while and made a number of unwarranted edits, but appologized for this.

While FE does not deny me bringing together a number of the FE concom members or that I used my Ontario Furries forum to do so and thinks I deserve credit for it, they refuse to allow that information to be shared on wikifur.

My claim on being the founder of FE was based on being the first one seriously working on it and gathering people together, and starting the discussion that lead to it. A fact that I have supported with mailing list archives.

I have never claimed that the suggestion for the hotel that was chosen was not made by me.

FE has denied that I was a member of the concom on wikifur.

I have never claimed sole credit for the convention.

My continued involvement in the convention was never a issue that would result in the disolution of the concom. I was removed for criticizing ideas from other members, complaining about being wrongly blamed for another member's mistake, complaining about the lack of organization and professionalism and suggesting someone else serve as chair.

Quorum of 2/3 of voting members were not present at the meeting leading to my dismissal. At that time there were 8 members, and only 4 were present.

I was made aware of the agenda of the meeting where I was dismissed, but the concom was also aware that it was the date of a planned camping trip and that I would be unable to attend.

My criticism of the convention was not universally critical. I complimented and supported many actions. What criticism there was was fair and supported by experience and research and made in a professional manner.

All members of FE's team are not banned from OF. In fact there are members actively participating in discussions on OF. There are only 3 bans against FE members which are there for misconduct on the forums.

No threats were made to ban people for supporting FE. In fact it was clearly stated that that was not the case.

There are no widespread bans for anyone that disagrees with me. Current ban list consists of Pakesh De, Shane, Silvax, and Manx for misconduct and blindsight for being responsible for members of FE's misconduct.

The damage caused to the community has been the result of dishonesty and disrespect by members of FE. I acted, in good conscience, to protect the community from this damage. FE's presence on OF was a constant source of personal attacks.

A number of community members have been personally hurt by FE's decisions.

If FE truely wishes to work for the furry community, they should treat all members with fairness and respect--even those who criticize and disagree with them and give fair recognition to people for their contributions to it.

If those conditions are met, they will be welcomed on OF.
