“Hector!!!” “Don’t worry, I gotcha covered, Hec.” Hector jumped forward, dodging the exploding carcass of a 7 foot SHADOW-bot. He jumped, rolled, and jumped to his side, landing on a bot and taking it out of commission so as it would not shoot Paws. He flipped forward quickly into the ship, taking out the bot in the entrance. “Come on! Let’s get in!” Himster followed. Readying his gun, he ducked through the corridors, Paws close behind. He ducked under a superheated ‘bot head flying past courtesy of Hector. He heard a yell, and ran forward as fast as he could go. Sharply turning, he saw Hector and a bunch of bots advancing on them. Paws was the first to shoot. She blew one of them apart. Then Hector did what he did best to the closest: ripped it apart. He jumped a blast and took care of another. Himster and Paws ran toward him, blowing bots as th y went. Soon none but parts remained. “Whew. One of them sucker punched me,” Hector sighed. “The bridge should be up ahead. We only have a few minutes left to take control of it before it blasts off.” The three mobians cautiously advanced toward the bridge. They soon came to a locked door, easily kicked down by Hector. This led to the bridge. Rolling over and dodging a blast from one of the 4 bots in the room, Himster quickly blew one apart. Paws threw a fireball to decoy the heat-seeking laser. She then shot the gun from its hands and shot its head off. Hector didn’t bother going after any of them. He needed to stop the autopilot. He smacked the button and quickly turned it off. “It’s off! The autopilot’s off!” Hector yelled. “The humans...” Himster trailed off. “CARGO HOLD OPENED” a computer voice boomed. “We did it...! We freed them!” Sash gasped, entering the room. “Indeed. But not for long, foolish mobians...” a sickeningly familiar voice said. Whirling around, Hector saw an evilly grinning countenance. Scarred on his right cheek, the squirrelish creature stood near to the door of the craft. His arms crossed, his hands lay at his sides. “What..!? I killed you!” Himster gasped. A laugh ensued. It was cold, uncaring, apathetic. “Ah, yes. You planted a bomb on me. Commendable that you could get so close. But...” Suddenly, Himster flew into the wall of the carrier, the metal bending. The creature stood over him. “...you cannot defeat ultimate life. I am FAK, ultimate life.” Hector, not scared as much as the previous time, came forward suddenly. “No more. This ends NOW.” He turned toward Bune. “Take care of everyone...” Before Bune could ask what he meant, Hector flew at “Ultimate Life”. The 7 foot tall menace was suddenly taken off guard. He fell from the ship, Hector rolling with him. “THIS ENDS NOW!!!!” Hector screamed. “Indeed it does! YOUR PATHETIC LIFE ENDS NOW!!!!” FAK’s voice was more in a rage than in his calm voice. The battle cries became distant as they fell. “H-Hector! What... what are you doing!?” Mura cried, looking out the door towards the falling figures. “I can’t let him go alone. The dude needs help.” Himster suddenly jumped from the cargo ship. “And that FAK bitch needs an ass kicking...” Paws, mostly apathetic to others, descended to the battle area also. “What are they doing...?” “Revenge,” Bune replied. “Don’t worry, Hector’s down there. They’ll be fine. They’re going their own ways... and helping us on the way...” “I can’t just leave them here.” “We have no choice. Hector would want us to leave.” “What about the others...?” “They’re in the other ship... oh, no! FAK’s hit it!” “They’re all fighting him... we’re the only ones on a ship now...” “Bune, you have to get lift off.... they’ll meet us in Mobotropolis when they can...” And then they left... “Sire, there’s been a sighting of a ship entering our airspace.” The squirrel, the king, shifted in his seat. “Have you tried hailing it?” “When we did, it sent back Robo-Robotnik’s signal. It has since been identified as one of his cargo ships. I would suggest organizing the Secret Service,” The leader of the secret service said haughtily. “Umm... yes, indeed. Please do so.” “You heard King Elias Acorn. We’ll organize and scatter at the landing site.” Geoffrey St. John took the Secret Service to the Knothole Armory. There he instructed them to pick up the heavy M16 guns. Distributing 2 clips each, he turned out of the armory and headed toward the landing site. It had been pinpointed as 1 mile to the northeast. The traveling was easy. It was mostly on the outskirts of the Great Forest, an uneventful place. Geoffrey suddenly saw the large ship come into view. It was grand, metallic. He readied his M16 and walked toward it. The exit suddenly opened. The agents rushed toward the sides so as not to be seen by the creatures to exit. It all happened in a flash. A white flash greeted Geoffrey. He jumped swiftly backwards and rolled, his M16 held up all the way. It was pointed at the intruder, a fox. Another fox came from the back. She held her rod in a defensive position. Hershey, using her cat reflexes, jumped to the side and aimed her M16 rifle at the fox. A red female hedgehog came from the back and set her hands suddenly ablaze. Heavy held Bomb in a warlike position, ready to throw. “Try it, I dare you!” Everyone said in unison. “Is landing here a crime, St. John?” “Bune... my apologies. You were in an enemy vessel.” He said to his troupe, “Stand down. It’s friendly. Who are these two?” “This one’s Mura, and the other one’s Sasha.” After a scowl from Sash, “er... Sash.” “Ah, look at the family resemblance. Sash is related to Sonic, I presume?” “Er... that’s what I need to find out.” “You have amnesia similar to Bune’s? I understand. Allow me to take you to King Elias Acorn.” “What happened to Max?” Bune inquired. “He was paralyzed from the waist down courtesy of that scoundrel Sonic.” “Sonic a scoundrel?” “He stole the Sword of Acorns. He’s imprisoned in Knothole. However, he’s out of the city right now, presumably escaped with his “Freedom Fighters”.” “Hey, don’t dis the FF’s. They’re better than your “Secret Service”,” Bune replied. “They’re a bunch of novices. I’m a seasoned pro.” “How ‘bout I kick your ass and prove how “seasoned” you are right here and now, Geoff?” Bune tested. “I’m not up for games right now,” Geoffrey said coldly. Bune grinned. He followed as Geoffrey led them to Knothole. 4
