(03/19/03) - Back (Yet) Again
College is back in session, and my previous plans to get to working more on sketching stuff and coloring it kinda fell through with the amount of work that was loaded on. NEVER try to dual-major CS/IT and Art, unless you've got a masochistic streak a mile long.
Haven't been posting many updates.. er, ANY updates for over a half-year, partially thanks to losing my password and not being able to recover it, and partially because I've leaned away from inking too much, and my scanner HATES how light I draw in regular pencil.
New little bit of stuff is up, a quick sketch that I decided to ink and plaster up here so people would know I'm not dead yet. ;)
(06/19/02) - Back Again
College is out for most of the summer, which means it's time to update again! Hopefully that also means that I can devote more time to drawing and coloring.
Speaking of which, a piece is finally up in the Gallery section, along with a few of the snapshots I ended up taking along the way. A femme aquatic dragon pinup, inspired by a doodle on someone else's piece of paper. I'm fairly happy with how the coloration came out, but still have to do a lot of work on foreshortening properly, until my hand gets the hang of it.
Anyway, enjoy!
(03/13/02) - Short Update
Just a couple of changes, mostly tossing up a few new sketches from the pad. College is already starting to really munch at my time, though the slight up side to this is that one of my classes happens to be Drawing for Animation.
The instructor does a good job of encouraging creative art instead of supressing it (unlike a prior instructor) as well as allowing the use of artistic license. Fortunately, this means that I am 'forced' to sit and draw things for about four to ten hours a week, working the creative muscles. If anyone is curious, I'll post up some of the quick non-furry drawings that get worked on in class.
As you may have noticed, the 'Gallery' section is empty at the moment. I'll end up putting a tiny 'Archives' link somewhere on the page once I have some new finished pieces to thumbnail and put up on the main page. Hopefully this will happen soon, but with my current schedule (and irritating habit of drawing on lined paper) I don't have all that much time to really get into the finishing stage, really refining things and cleaning them up. Best place to look would be the 'Sketches' section, as I've started putting up line tests and sketch progressions. May even put up some of the animations from Animation 101, once they're finished (or I can figure out how to affix a pegstrip to my scanner, and still hold the pages properly flat. Just lining up the edge isn't precise enough. ^_^)
(02/13/02) - Grand Reopening
Well, welcome back. Been a while since this little juke joint got a spruce-up, so I managed to find a bit of free time to redesign a little. Hopefully everything should be working nice and pretty by the time I toss this up. Anything that doesn't (if it's a big thing) is likely being revamped and rewritten to a cleaner, slightly more minimalist design. All this means that all jou silly, silly pipples who haven't seen the point of getting a broadband connection (or those of you unfortunate enough to live outside an availability sphere) should find it MUCH easier to browse with images enabled. Honestly enough, looking back at the ugly kludge that was the original page, it really hurts my eyes. Though I still /love/ the font on the old buttons, it appears to have fled far and fast from any of my machines. Thereby, I'm using a number of new ones sucked down from the Blambot website free-font section. Good stuff, but I may end up paying for their Jack Armstrong or Rooftop Run pack if I can score the cash to pay for the ones I like more.
Have a few new sections for those of you who've been around previously. 'Updates' contains links to the newest scrawl and other material I slap up here. Gallery is for showing 'finished' pieces of art, or at least stuff that I've inked. Sketches has been relegated to just that... unfinished bits and bobs that I thought I'd share... would rather no one saved anything from it, as they *should* end up in the Gallery before _too_ long. Guest Art is for anyone who ends up drawing my character(s), be it through a commission, trade, or just plain old wanting to. :) News will contain a list of all changes and fixes to the site, dating back as long as I feel like it. FAHO will remain as it always has... love it or hate it, s'up to you.
Anyway. I'd best get to making everything work like I've said it does, instead of yacking away on this thing. Flames of the phoenix, or last death twitches of third-degree burns.. even I don't know.
Wanna drop me a line?
