New Year's Eve Weekend
Well, like the saying goes, "We've done it before, so we'll do it
again", I'd like to invite all of you to a full weekend of Fur, Food, n
Fun in the Metropolis of St. Louis.
Beginning Friday night, Dec. 28, Check into your sleeping abode (Hotel,
BBH, etc.), and then leave around 6:30 for dinner at Fuddruckers, 10752
Sunset Plaza, just off of Watson Rd, and about 10 miles down the road
from the BBH. (Hey, everything is just off of Watson Rd, now that I
think about it.....). Cost will be around $10 or a bit less, depending
on what you order.
Then we have a couple of choices planned: Either Cosmic Bowling, at our
favorite Bowling Center, Sunset Lanes, 7777 Watson Rd (There's that name
again!), which is about 4 miles from Fuddruckers, or a gathering at
MoKaBes, 3606 Arsenal. The link has a great map, and good instructions too.
The bowling should run about $10, plus munchies n drinks. Please, they
owners are really good about letting us bowl there (even in suit!), so
we DO need to pay to play. And speaking of which, bring your fursuit!
They LOVE it when we suit up and bowl..they are even nice enough to give
the fursuiters bumpers :)
Saturday morning: Meet at the Big Blue House (breakfast is on your own),
and drive on down to Union Station, at around 11 AM, to shop for these
extra special bargains. There is a small parking fee, so make sure you
budget that into your spending spree!
Sat afternoon: from Union Station, we go to a nice little Italian Bistro
called Alphonso's, which is across the creek in Marysville, Ill. They
have great pizza, and also a game room (Oooohhh...air hockey!). The
pizza and game room are worth the 25 min drive, trust me!
We have their party room reserved from 3-5 PM, and we will host a gift
exchange while we're munching on the pizza n goodies. This is OPTIONAL
(note the emphasis on OPTIONAL!!), but for those who wish to
participate, bring in a wrapped gift of around $5-10 and place it in the
pile, and we will draw participant's names out of a fursuit head to let
you choose your present. Any personal gifts should be exchanged in
private, not here, please. Cost of dinner there is around $5-10 per
Fur, less if you share the Large, Jumbo, Econo sized Pizza!
From there, we will drive to Belleville, Ill, to play....Lazer Tag! The
cost of the games is $6 for 1 game, $10 for 2, and $12 for 3 15 min
games. We can play 10 vs 10 I think, and it can be NARFA Vs ARF, or KC,
or LAFF...you get the idea! We will have it reserved from 7 to 10 PM,
and maybe later than that if we're still in the mood to play! We are
also trying to see if we can get a better group rate too, so the cost
might drop a little.
Sunday morning (10 AM), we can all go to Chris's for some delish
breakfast/ lunch, and then it's up to you to decide what you wanna
see/do (if anything); Mmagic House, the Arch, museums, and the Casino
(Better be over 18 AND have ID!) The only thing is...the Rams are in
town, with a NOON start, meaning don't go anywhere near Downtown between
10 AM and 4 PM, or you will be stuck in a traffic jam from Hell! Sites
to visit in the Western part of town, like the Transportation Museum, or
Magic House, would be a safer bet. Both of these, as well as the Arch
and a few of the museums have admission fees (around $7-10 per Fur).
Hugs and skritches for all the furs that have to leave for their homes
throughout the day.
Sun evening, and Mon. morning are just decompress times; there are no
plans to do anything. Tyger and Spike both have to work Monday morning,
so we will all need to be out of their home when they are gone. Everyone
is welcome to meet Mon. morning to see if they wanna do anything else
(movie, shopping, etc.) Possible meeting time and place: the Hardees for
breakfast @ 10 AM.
For those staying for Monday, here's the plan:
Spike and I are planning our annual New Year's Eve party on 12/31 (when
else) We will be starting at Chris' for dinner followed by our New Year's
Eve celebration at Sunset Lanes for bowling. Costs are as follows and at
bowling, everyone must pay to be there at the party (the bowling alley goes
out of their way for us, it's the least we can do to show our support to
them) So no mooching and hanging around and not paying....sorry. We will
have a traditional New Year's Day brunch at the big blue house with black
eyed peas, saurkraut, etc....all the foods that are supposed to bring luck
in the new year!
Costwise....Dinner will be about $15
Bowling will be about $15 (plus your drinks and munchies) The $15 includes
all you can bowl, champagne toast at midnight and other fun things. (trust
me, $15 for a New Year's Eve party is dirt cheap)
And, speaking of hotels, if you need one (and most of you will) email
Tyger at:
[email protected]
ASAP! or sooner!
The hotel is the Red Roof Inn, which is about 3 blocks from the BBH, and
very reasonably priced at $62.99 + tx per room-night.
We hope to see you all there, but if not, have a GREAT New Year's
celebration wherever you are!
