The Imperial Empire and Destiny

The Imperial Empire and other nations of Canarth is populated by Anthrimals - anthropomorphic animals in other words.  At the present, the Imperial Empire occupies almost half of Canarth.  The current ruler of the Imperial Empire is Empress Kala Goldenclaw.  Many wars and conflicts have moved boundary lines and reformed nations since the formation of the Imperial Empire - over 1500 years ago.  The current year of Canarth is 3054.  The planet of Canarth is very much like earth.  65% of the world is open water.  There are tropic forests, deserts, mountains, snowy wastes, temperate forests and grassland plains.

The majority of nations on Canarth are ruled by families that claim to be the descendants of Gods and Goddesses.  Before the formation of the Imperial Empire, the Da-ku family, descendants of Goddess Ankoku, ruled more than half of the world.  When the people of the empire revolted, the Da-ku family disappeared and the lands split up into separate nations, each ruled by a family claiming descendant of one of the known gods.  One nation, lead by the Goldenclaws - descendants of Goddess Kin, created the Imperial Empire.

After one particularly long war, the nations of Canarth formed a peace treaty to stop the endless destruction and conflict.  With the chance of acquiring land through conflict now gone, the rulers of the nations turned their gaze towards the depths of space.  In 2995, an Imperial exploration team landed on Paradise, a tropical planet in the same solar system of Canarth.  Other nations soon explored the other planets in the solar system.  With the discovery of hyperspace engines in 3002, the nations of Canarth reached towards the stars of the universe.

Destiny is the Empire's second planet, and the furthest planet from Canarth that has been colonised.  There is only one colony on Destiny which is named Dome City for obvious reasons (the colony is dominated by a massive dome building).   The dome used to house the administration and research departments on the second floor before the Control Tower was built.  Now the second floor has been converted into luxury living quarters, gymnasiums, a garden park planted with Canarth plants, and other luxury services.  The ground floor is used for storage and city meetings.

The Control Tower is a very tall building built into the lower west side of the Dome building.  The tower has several landing pads, the administration and communication departments, luxury living quarters and apartments for civilians with a high Civilian Status (CS system explained later), and a rail station for equipment transport to important areas of the colony.

Civilians with a low status have small dome-like living quarters outside the Dome.  These homes are grouped into villages which usually near important social areas or large work places like bars and restaurants, the power station or the river port.

Two military Battlelions are based on Destiny, the 9th Eagles and 28th Ravens.

Civilian Status System

Every civilian in the Imperial Empire has a civilian status (except the emperor/empress family).  Civilian status effects what jobs a civilian can apply for, job payment, education (after status activation), empire luxuries and voting rights.  The civilian status uses a rating system to show a civilian's status.  00.1 is the lowest while 10.9 is the highest.  The system rating is effected by parentage (parent's status), family and personal wealth, intelligence, mental health, qualifications, military service, and criminal record.  Young civilian's status is activated at the age of 15.  Test scores and qualifications (plus other factors) is added onto the starting status rate of 1.5.

Criminals are the only people who have a civilian status rate below 1.5.  Military personnel have their Status frozen when they join.  No matter how high a status rating a person has, he/she will always start (after training) as a private - an equal to every other private in the military.  Once the person leaves the military, his/hers status rate is unfrozen and his/hers military record is converted into status points. Ranks, commendations, medals awarded and other factors of military life add onto a status rate.  If he/she had been kicked out of military service, no deductions are made to his/hers status.

Military Terms and Ranks

The Imperial military terms and ranks are quite different than Earth.  From the lowest to highest, ranks in the Imperial military are: Training Private, Private, Sajent, Luten, Major, Commander, Sageneral, Logeneral, General, Supreme General.

Privates are your every day cannon fod- eh, I mean soldier.  The rank Sajent is deprived from Sergeant (I'll explain why its spelled differently later on) and Luten is from Lieutenant.  Sageneral is a mix of Sajent and General, while Logeneral is the mix of Luten and General.

When I created the Imperial military, I don't want to be bogged down with trying to get real life military terms and ranks correct, so I created a new system for the Imperial military.  Creating my own terms for the military means the terms and ranks are almost second nature to me and I can pretty much make it up as I go along.

The Imperial military is split into Battlelions.  Each Battlelion is made up of: 5 Privates and 1 Sajent in a Squad, 3 Squads and 1 Luten in a Pack, 2 Packs and 1 Major in a Pride, 2 Prides and 1 Commander in a Battlelion.  A Battlelion has a max total of 79 military personnel.  A Battlelion takes on one of several roles - Recon, Infantry, Armoured, Tanka, Anti, Air, Marine, Mech, and Space.  Battlelions come in either normal or elite flavours.  The name of a Battlelion takes after an animal (3rd Wolves for example) and may include another word, like for examples, 42nd White Panthers, 25th Shadow Crows and 15th Flying Sharks.

Battlelions are also sorted into two groups - Grade 1 and Grade 2.  When a Private finishes training, he/she will get a choice of which Battlelion to join (provided the Private has already trained in whatever role the Battlelion plays).  A Private must join a Grade 1 Battlelion (and serve in the Battlelion for a period of time) before transferring to a Grade 2 Battlelion.  Grade 2 Battlelions are generally have more experienced veterans than a Grade 1 Battlelion.  All Elite Battlelions are Grade 2.

Imperial Research Data

Scientists and researchers on Destiny have discovered many interesting facts and mysteries about the planet.  The planet boasts a great number of alien species of mammals, birds, reptiles, marine life and plants.  But scientists have discovered a rather large mystery about wildlife on Destiny: several species of wildlife can also be found on Canarth - these species have an exact genetic match to species on Canarth.

Many theories have been raised to try to explain this apparent fluke of life.  One theory suggests that an ancient space-faring civilization transported animals from Canarth to Destiny.  This theory is supported by the discovery of several areas of ancient stone ruins.

Destiny Wildlife:

Snakus-Gekoton - A skeleton view of a large, snake like predator nicknamed Clawhead due to the single-clawed limb attached to the top of its head.

Gyro-Carnioraptor - A skeleton view of a predator nicknamed Gyroraptor.
