Welcome! I have always wanted to post some three dimentiaol art, but have never had something that was related to the site. Finally, I got off my scaled hide and started something. This is the project page for a dragon model/mask that I am currently working on. So you too can have fun at home, I have made three easy steps on how to make your very own!
Step One: Get some paper!
Step Two: Get some tape and mold that puppy!
Step Three: Presto! Dragon head!
It's that easy!
(Note: Results may vary. Several days/weeks may perhaps pass between Step Two and Three.)
Okay... well, it may not be THAT easy... in fact it's quite a bit of work. I'll be updating this page as this project gets done, with more images and hope I got around creating this piece.
For our first dose of images, here are the first ones I took around December 2000 after the masking tape and molding phase was done. It took a bit of work, but it finally became the shape I wanted as best I could... the entire thing is totally newspaper and masking tape, that's it. Had to start from scratch... but like most art related projects, I enjoyed it. :) Click each image for a closer view of the first phase of production.

Well, here is where we are at so far. I plastered the guy with a few layers of glue and paper over the masking tape, and his is what we have so far. It still has a bit of work for just this stage... I have the ear fins which are a pain to mache, and I want to put several layers of glue as well. Why? Once you have enough glue on there, it takes a nice shiny, smooth texture, which is what I want. I my carve scales or something in the future, but I'm not sure at this point.
Thanks for taking a look! Come back soon... I'll be updated often!
