How Did I Get Sucked into Furry Fandom?
Yeah, I'm one of those Skinny Guys in a Dog Collar, with a tail and ears. But how did i evolve from being a simple everyday Jackass; to being a simple everyday "Furry" Jackass :)
Well, my story begins, a long long time ago in a Shopping Mall Far Far away..........I was doing a Bit of shopping at a Local Colorado Mall with my Best Friend, when we Decided to stop into "It's Your Move" A store specializing in AD&D books, card games, puzzles, etc etc etc...and while looking at the message board, out of a whim, I saw an interesting flyer that said "DenFur: trying to build up the Local Denver Furry community" It also listed that RPG enthusiasts and Magic Players are Welcome. Well, Being as that i was into Magic: The Gathering (and wondering what the hell a "Furry" was) I stopped by the mall the dates this guy was going to be there, naturally i was skeptical when i approached him. he was a bit older then I, but looked a lot older then I (which isn't a Bad thing). I started making small talk to him and he showed me a collection of Furry art prints in a folder he had...needless to say it blew my mind away, I had been thinking about this kind of stuff since i was 8 years old! Hell, I've has a Fursuit i made on a whim for 3 years before i even met this guy! So, He introduced me into the Furry Fandom, we started talking and talking more and more, he was showing me websites, i was gathering information, and more Picks :) then he invited me to a Bday celebration he was holding for 3 other Furries in Colorado. so I went and met them all. That was one of the main things that drew me to the "furry-side" most wonderful people in this world, they talked and thought (Furry-wise) near exactly the way my mind worked. Then he suggested i go to "Confurence 9" which is (Duh!) a furry con. I said "There are actually CONVENTIONS these people go to?" So he drug me along to California and since then, including CF9 i have attended 8 Furry cons in a 3 year period, I have made some absolutelly wonderful friends that I care about deeply, and have some of the best times of my life :)
That was almost 4 years ago.......wow.....4 years! Least I'm not a "Newbie" anymore :) I'm a near-regular on FurryMUCK (Name
:Foxlord), i visit some of the news Groups: a.l.f., a.f.f. and quite a few people know who i am :) least i hope so :)
