NightShade was once Nina Swift, a master thief in the dark ages. She became a thief only because she thought it'd be fun and an easy living. She never kept anything she didn't need, putting the stolen goods where their owners could easily find them. Being a peaceful person by nature, she usually finds the up side to everything and can take a joke (but is more likely to serve them out). Though the one thing she can't stand is people calling and fearing her, thinking she's a vampire bat even though she isn't and finds the thought of drinking blood sickining (she is a vegetarian).

She heard about a treasure while between hits and thought that it'd be easy money but she ended up in the dungeon of the lair of a human army. But she was able to escape with the help of FireClaw and FirePaw.

Now in the modern age, Nina Swift is now NightShade after being chosen and brought back to life by Chronos, the god of time, to be the physical form of the element of darkness. She had been given these powers to save the world from distruction by forces altering destiny.
