OTHER
MECHA SERIES
I've decided to list
a little information about some
of my favorite mecha
and mecha-related games, TV shows,
books and animes.
I highly recommend them!
MEGAMAN/MEGAMANX
If this isn't
mecha, I don't know what is. An excellent
series of video games
to play, very well known. Known as
Rockman in Japan.
I personally, however, wouldn't recommend
the cartoon that
aired on Fox... it was kind of corny.
BEAST WARS/BEAST MACHINES
Transformers
fans rejoice. It just doesn't get any better
than this. Outstanding
computer graphics and fantastic
writing make these
my 'Must Watch!' TV shows.
ROBOT CARNIVAL
I have never
in my life seen an animated film to match this
one. A collection
of several animated short stories,
each with a robotic
theme. The one titled 'Presence' will
move you to tears,
no matter HOW hardened you are.
CASSHAN: ROBOT HUNTER
Makes me wonder
if Capcom didn't copy this to make
MegaManX. An EXCELLENT
robot-based anime that shows every
so often on the Sci
Fi Channel
ARMITAGE III
A true mecha
Anime. A robot trying to keep anyone from
knowing she is a
robot. Excellent animation, and a
really moving story.
GHOST IN THE SHELL
You've probably
seen this for rent in the local video
store. If you haven't
already -- rent it. Despite what
some naysayers claim,
it DOES meet up with the hype.
ROBOTREK
A fun RPG from
Enix. You play a robot inventor who builds
and improves several
robots as he goes on a quest. I'd
recommend trying
to find the ROM -- the cartridges are
pretty rare. For
SNES systems.
I, ROBOT
The now famous
book of robots and men written by Isaac
Asimov. If you haven't
read it, do it. After all, current
robotics development
agencies are using his Three Laws of
Robotics.
