Ann Vole Speaks

I figured out how to catch voles and have caught two new species. Unfortunately, I cannot find a good information source to be sure what species I have. My method is to walk down rows of combined straw and listen carefully for noise other then my foot steps. Then you must franticly move the straw around to see where the vole is then "paw" under the straw like a cat.

I just got a site at solfire.com where I can play around with CGI scripts. Right now I just linked it to this site but that will soon change, so try this link www.solfire.com/~annvole/ and see what I am experimenting with.

Found most of my art materials and now I have a light table set-up...new animation on the way! I will set up a children's book "site" where I will display my childrens books as I develop them. I will post some stuff on SIDE7 when I get on next.

Harvest time on the farm is hard on the body. The 14 hour days of driving and fixing machinery, putting up bails and cleaning out plugged up combines takes it's toll. The good news is that I almost own my house and a block of lots beside my place. I can start my own farming operation next year raising small mammals of some sort and/or growing tree seedlings and/or growing medicinal herbs. Once that is going and I make lots of artwork (mostly stone sculptures), I can finally do what I've always wanted, make an animated film! The project that will tie it all together will be a website on small animal care with an animated host (the real Ann Vole cartoon character) and it's multilingual translation component. I may be able to make some money through web stuff or selling animals individualy as pets but I have my doubts so I am finding as many different cash sources as I can that I can do at the same time. An animated film I made about 10 years ago called "Why Wolves Howl" is going to be included on a distributed tape of animated shorts to be distributed by QAS. Now I need to start a new quick film project, get grants and such, and make something new (likely use the Sask Film Pool's equipment). I just got accepted to join the Animated Gif Artists Guild (www.agag.com) and applied to some animation related rings and such.

I added a Barg page to http://angelfire.com/sk2/smilesask/ for news items and am testing the possibility of allowing select people to add to the Barg page without knowing the site password. This will allow the site to have reporters and certain groups having control of certain pages without worries.

I've read about depression and I have all the classic symptoms EXCEPT feeling depressed. Now that I have eliminated all the other possible souces of these symptoms (finding "cures" for: ADD, fiba mialga, hyperactivity, dislexia, depressing events in my life) the symptoms left lead me to believe I have "clinical" depression and am going to see the brain doctors myself for mild long-term anti-depressants. Depression can be a physical genetic defect that has no bearing on how "mentaly stable" a person is. Even if it is all just from what life s throwing your way, a little help with your brain chemistry goes a long way to getting your life on the fast track to toward your goals

I bought a degu last week and none of the others have sold yet and my guy is so lonely so I will buy another today. If they will let me, I think I will buy a mother rat and her babies (they are not sure who the mother is so I might have to buy all the females!). I still need to get more homes built for critters before I can get hundreds of wild ones and it may be months before I'm ready.
