 Not content to be just sitting around when his best and most popular friend is standing in the spotlight, Idge has some neat personality quirks too. In most cases, sidekicks in TV shows and movies are usually just there for comedy relief. They are usually clumsy too, and often act as a foil for the main character. In Idge's case, he is none of the above, although he does have some funny moments, and sometimes get Toby into trouble. The picture on the left is him when he was a kid and thought he was a dog. The picture on the right is Idge as a Teen. He lost most of his 'doggy' ways. Idge's Statistics
Full name: Idgit Steward Before you read on, take a gander at my animation universe text I created my very own universe regarding the three species that exists on Earth: Humans, Hybrids and Toons (A and B subtypes). I invented everything up myself and some people already have said nice things about it. It will give you a better understanding on my Toons in general. Please note that what you read in it only pertains to MY characters and my stories! it doesn't apply to what you see on TV. Everything in it is ORIGINAL and invented up by me! Description: A B Toon, Idge is predominately orange, with white areas on his face, muzzle, and hands. He, in essence, looks exactly like Toby, which makes sense since they're both the same breed. However, he has some slight differences. His nose is black and his semi erect ears tend to drop off to the sides, as opposed to Toby's, which fold in front of his face. He also is a tad shorter, which also makes sense since he's younger. His tail resembles a cat tail. However, he doesn't look much like a cat or a dog. When he was a kid, Idge had an right eye which tilted at a 45 degree angle. When he became 17, his eye was surgically moved and now his eye is back to normal. Personality: A frisky 17 year old, Idge is a bit shorter than a normal 17 year old, but Toby has a lot taller than other kids his age too. He is an easy going Teen, but unlike most other Teens, he doesn't spend much time outside going to the mall or going to the movies. He has never been to school and therefore don't have much friends, which is probably one of the reasons why he usually doesn't go anywhere. He does have one friend though, a Hybrid named Chase. Although he has known Toby for a loooong time, and has recently been adopted by him, he doesn't treat Steward as an ordinary dad. He always call him by his first name and they are the best of friends. He spends quite a bit of time in front of the computer in his bedroom, and often plays games with Chase over a modem. Idge and Les (Toby's son) do not get along, but he is okay with Melanie (Toby's daughter), as she inherited her dad's intelligence. When he was young, he used to act like a dog, but now it sort of waned off as he grew older, but they tend to pop up from time to time, leading to some embarrasing moments. If he's not on the computer, he is usually eating something. Background: Like Toby, Idge doesn't know anything about his parents. He doesn't even know what they looked like. He was an orphan right from the start became an A Toon very early in life. He was five years old when he was found by Michael (who later changed his name to Toby) while looking for stuff in a local dump. He never had a name either, so Mike thought one up for him. Granted, Idge didn't like the name much, but he was just a kid then. He never mentioned anything about it. Mike also was an orphan, and he needed a friend, so Idge soon became his best friend (Idge was his ONLY friend), and although Idge never said anything except acting like a dog 99% of the time, Mike enjoyed having him around. Idge LOVED to eat though, and was always hungry. As a consequence, Mike had to look for food often to satisfy his friend's appetite. Since he was an A Toon, Mike didn't have to watch out for him since Idge couldn't die anyway. While Mike was growing up every day, Idge stayed the same age. When Digger found Mike and brought him to see the gang, Idge was kind of scared that Mike might not like him anymore, and at first it seemed that way. However, as time passed on and Mike grew much older, he noticed that Digger starting acting a little differently around Mike. Soon, Mike and Idge moved out to live someplace else, but they come back from time to time to visit. He was always a quiet guy, and never said a word to anyone. However, things changed when Mike went out by himself one day and met two other Toons when he was 15 years old. The two Toons that Mike met that day was Candy and Susan, two A Toon cats. Not content to be hanging around with kids, Mike gave them the brush off and disappeared. Days later, they accidently ran into each other again, but this time, Mike started to like the two. Idge liked the two right from the moment he met them, and to Mike's surprise, he actually started talking! It turns out that he could talk all along, but just didn't want to, on the account that if he stayed silent, he'd look and act more cute. He immediately hit it off with Susan and was usually with her if he wasn't with Mike. He also noticed that Mike and Candy often argued with each other, but didn't know why. Soon the time came when all four of them moved to Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Although all four were orphans, Mike managed to get a house for them to live in (and don't ask how they pay the bills). It was at this time when Candy changed Mike's name to Toby to avoid confrontations with the law. Mike often stole stuff to survive on the streets, but he stopped when he moved to Waterloo. Out of the four, Idge is the quietest and the slowest. He still acted like a dog but his friends didn't seem to mind, and called him their 'pet.' When Candy and Susan left on a trip, Idge started to act a little different towards Toby, and Toby started treating him as if he was his son. Not long afterwards, Idge and Toby somehow changed into a B Toon and started to grow up. Now that Idge can get hurt now, Toby began to grow more protective over him. Now that Idge is 17, he finds that all the doggy things he did when he was young is totally embarassing now, and tries to act normal, and he usually does. One thing that hasn't changed is his appetite. He still is as hungry as ever. He was finally adopted by his best friend Toby and became friends with Chase, a Hybrid with Toon dog ears. He doesn't have a girlfriend...yet and looks happy about it, but he probably is secretly envious of Steward, who not only had a girlfriend, but got married too! Toby never thought anyone would like him, but off course he was wrong when someone did like him for what he is. Idge might get that same chance too, but it hasn't happened yet. Idge doesn't have a job, but is trying to get one. He thinks it's cool that Toby is a detective. He has never been to school, but Toby has taught him everything he knows, and is a good teacher. Idge may not be as smart as Toby, but he's smarter than most other 17 year olds. He had a rabbit as a pet but he died, so he was given another pet; A small white and black A Toon dog whom he called Sparten. Sparten is often seen inside Idge's bedroom, either watching him play computer games or curled up fast asleep on the corner of his bed.
To sum it all up, Idge has a firm relationship with Toby. They're more than just best friends. They understand each other. He may not share the same spotlight as everyone's favorite mascot, but he is cool in his own right.
